One of Imperioso's grandsires is Leviton (the number one ranked breeding stallion for the Military until he died) and the other is Vasallo II (number one ranked breeding stallion in LIMPRE the Spanish book of merits). Imperioso is a son of Quisas III who was imported by Denham Ranch in 1987 from the famous Yeguada Cardenas in Spain.
